  • Zoonotic Disease

    Infectious diseases that are transmittable from animals to humans. These diseases originate in animals and have the potential to cause outbreaks in human populations. One Health is one field that focuses on the health of humans, animals, and the environment together to prevent zoonotic diseases from spreading.

  • Zygote

    The single cell formed when a sperm fertilizes an egg. It contains a full set of DNA, half from an egg (ovum) and half from a sperm, and starts dividing to develop into an embryo.
