Where do you see flooding happening right now? Pick a place and check it out on google maps. Look close at the geography and see what features increase the risk of flooding in the area.

What other types of disasters do you see?

Are you in a flood-prone area? Are you visiting a flood-prone area? Next time you are in the car, on a bus, or riding a bike through town, look around. Do you see any of the structural or non-structural mitigation strategies from this lesson?
